Five people on unicycles are seen on an outdoor basketball court at night. One is dribbling, with an apparent teammate cutting towards the basket on the other side of the image. A man in bright tie-dye is positioned in a zone defense position under the basket.

About the Berkeley Unicyclists

The Berkeley Unicyclists are a loose collection of folks who get together for unicycle basketball, mountain unicycling (MUni), distance rides and the occasional parade.

Meetings

Our only regular meeting is for unicycle basketball, sometimes including street and flatland unicycling, on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM, at San Pablo Park in Berkeley. The courts are outdoors, so if it’s raining we’ll usually call it off unless we can get a gym. Best to get on the hoops mailing list if you’re interested.

There are often extra unicycles at practice if you’d like to try one out (best to send mail first).

We also have frequent MUni and/or distance rides on weekends.  To learn about those, subscribe to our blog (RSS), Google Calendar, or our mailing list. Joaquin Miller Park in Oakland is our favorite MUni venue, but we’ll also ride in Marin, Pacifica, and all over the Bay Area.

Events

In 2024 we started the SF Bay Area Unicycle Weekend.

We co-sponsored the annual Berkeley Juggling and Unicycle Festival.

In 2010, we hosted the U Games, the national championships for all unicycle events.

The Berkeley Revolution

We’re the home of the Berkeley Revolution, the 2010 unicycle basketball national champions!

  1. I need some help and tips in rolling hops and high hops and some wrist issues, can I meet up with some of you guys in person and maybe chill around a bit as well?
