Joaquin Miller with Noli

Seems like our group MUni rides are mostly prompted by people coming in from out of town, these days. So keep coming! This weekend, we got a request from Noli to check out some of the trails from the U Games national championships we ran in Joaquin Miller in 2010. Sounded like a good plan, so we went for it.

Chaparral

We started with Chaparral (twice, for Noli).

Then we found a new skinny at the upper parking lot.

Then we headed over to Castle Park to check out the trail re-route BTCEB is working on at the top.

The telephone poles are still there and still fun. The new alignment is fine, but not real MUni, more XC. The bottom is still the same, complicated, loose and scary.

Castle Park

Noli won Best Biff on the old Castle Park alignment, on the telephone pole drop, appropriately enough.

We got a ton of love from spectators in the park, which probably means we’re not riding there often enough. Beautiful day, great ride, let’s do it more!
