California MUni Weekend is up in Bishop this year (September 17-20) and it includes a climb to White Mountain Peak (14,252′) so it’s time to get training. Ray and I started it out with a mellow one on a beautiful day in Joaquin Miller Park. I think I won Best Biff on one of the new side options off Sequoia Bayview, but Ray made up for it in volume.
I’m going to be scheduling rides at least weekly for the next couple of months. Mix of Saturdays and Sundays. Hitting all of our fun places. Loose schedule:
- Sunday, July 25: China Camp (non-technical, 10 mile loop with a climb)
- Saturday, July 31: Rockville Hills (technical, rocky)
- Saturday, August 7: Camp Tamarancho (long loop with rock gardens)
- Saturday, August 14 (road trip): Downieville Downhill (shuttle ride, 15+ miles)
- Sunday, August 22: Annadel State Park (long loop with rocky sections)
- Saturday, August 28: Soquel Demo Forest, Braille Trail (big climb, long fun downhill)
- Saturday, September 4: Dimond/Joaquin Miller (all the way up)
- Sunday, September 5 (two-fer weekend): Whipsnake (long climb, steep chutes)
- Saturday, September 11: Mount Diablo (epic)
Hope to see y’all out there!
